Tooth Fully Avulsed (Knocked Out)

In the event that a tooth has been fully removed from the mouth unexpectedly, remember these important steps. They will increase your chances of being able to reapply the tooth.

• Keep tooth in a medium. Cold milk is best, next best is saliva. If no saliva, then keep in water. Do not let the tooth dry or touch root-to-finger.
• Do not wrap tooth in anything.
• Get to the dentist as soon as possible, you will get the best results if  the tooth can be re-implanted within 30 mins. Do not try to implant tooth yourself.
• These steps apply only to adult teeth. Re-implanting primary teeth is usually not recommended.
